PRL TRAIL TOUR Activity Overview
We invite you on an exciting journey through time, exploring the history and industrial heritage of Krakow.
We'll pick you up in vintage cars from your chosen location in Kraków. Our fleet includes Nysa cars, Fiat 126p, and Škoda 120. Then we’ll kick off a tour tracing the footsteps of communism in Kraków. Throughout the trip, participants can switch seats in the vehicles so everyone gets a chance to ride in these iconic cars from the past.
On the tour agenda: Admiring the Architecture of the Central Square and Today’s New Huta Center: We’ll start at the Central Square, where you'll learn about the history and unique architecture of this special place. A stroll down the Alley of Roses at the former site of the Lenin Monument: Walking down the Alley of Roses will let you feel the spirit of the past as you uncover the history and changes that have taken place in this area. Gates of the Metallurgical Combine, Buildings Z and S of the Administrative Center of the Hut, the famous sign "T. Sendzimira Steelworks": We’ll continue our journey, exploring unique sites connected to the industrial history of New Huta. IS-2 Tank at the Museum of Armed Struggle in the Górali Housing Estate: We’ll uncover the military history of the city, stopping by the Museum of Armed Struggle, where you can admire the IS-2 tank and learn more about the times of the fight for independence. The Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland - The Ark of the Lord: We’ll showcase the symbolic Church of Our Lady Queen of Poland, which was the first church in New Huta, built through the determination and effort of the residents. Return in Vintage Cars from the Combine to the Central Square.
For an additional fee of + 99 PLN net/person, we can finish the trip with lunch at a PRL-style restaurant - dumplings, herring, compote, etc.
